Shippers Council Boss Urges Staff to Leverage Social Media Ahead of Regulatory Bill

As part of the Nigerian Shippers’ Council’s efforts to boost its visibility as the port economic regulator, the Executive Secretary Akutah Pius Ukeyima Esq who hosted a strategic new media talk with the Council’s staff and management for a way forward has urged for change of pattern.

The session according to him, was to enhance public engagement as the Council prepares to transition into the Nigerian Port Economic Regulatory Agency (NPERA).

The Council boss encouraged staff members to support NPERA by sharing the agency’s mandates, duties, and activities on social media platforms once the bill is signed into law.

He also urged them to carefully review the NPERA bill to grasp the agency’s future direction and develop effective strategies for implementation.

Dr. Williams Azuh, Maritime policy analyst and consultant speaking during the meeting, emphasized that NPERA’s reach and impact can be significantly amplified through staff participation, ultimately enhancing the agency’s service delivery.

On his part, Mr Olurotimi Anifowose, Director of Strategic Planning and Research, reiterated the importance of this transition in achieving the Council’s objectives.
