The recent renovation of the local educational center marks a significant milestone in enhancing learning opportunities for students in coastal communities. Equipped with cutting-edge facilities, the center now boasts a 30KVA solar inverter, 54 solar panels, 250 HP laptops, eight inverter industrial air conditioners, essential furniture, and six toilet facilities.
Chief Kestin Pondi, Managing Director of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited (TSSNL), emphasized that this initiative is a vital investment in the future of the community, aiming to bridge the gap between aspirations and reality. Represented by Ms. Daisy Jaja, Administrative Manager of Tantita, Pondi acknowledged the challenges faced by students striving for academic success and the frustrations experienced by teachers in their mission to impart knowledge.
“This initiative demonstrates that Tantita is committed to more than just safeguarding borders and infrastructure; we are dedicated to securing dreams, potential, and the future,” Pondi stated. He expressed that education is the cornerstone of national development and a secured future is built on knowledge.
Pondi reassured the community that the new facilities would empower students to take their JAMB examinations with confidence, free from interruptions caused by power outages or inadequate resources. He encouraged students to take their studies seriously, reminding them that among them are future engineers, lawyers, and medical professionals.
He also urged teachers to continue mentoring their students, reinforcing that they are nurturing a generation capable of transforming the nation. Pondi invited the community to view this donation as a seed that will grow into a future where no child is left behind.
Mr. Victor Isereke, operator of the Computer-Based Test (CBT) center, shared the center’s journey, noting its transition from an ICT hub to a JAMB CBT center in 2021, thanks to the support of Mr. Julius Pondi, a member of the Burutu Federal Constituency. Isereke highlighted the need for upgrades as equipment began to fail in 2024, leading to Tantita’s involvement in the initiative.
Mr. Akpos Seimode, Head of Community Relations at Tantita, encouraged the community to make the most of the new facilities. In response, Mr. Daniel Okebor, Acting Chairman of Ogulaha Community, expressed gratitude for the generous donation and assured that the facilities would be well-maintained.
