The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) has joined forces with the MMS Woman of Fortune Hall of Fame (WoFHoF) Initiative, a non-governmental organisation focusing on women’s issues. This partnership aims to strengthen efforts against human trafficking and gender-based violence, particularly in certain sectors of the economy.
What the Partnership Will Do
The two organisations signed a Memorandum of Understanding (Mou) that outlines key areas where they will work together. These include:
- Human Trafficking: Focusing on trafficking by sea and cross-border transportation.
- Sex and Gender-Based Violence: Addressing issues in workplaces, especially in the maritime and logistics industries.

During the signing ceremony, Hajia Binta Lami Adamu Bello, the Director-General of NAPTIP, expressed her confidence in the WoFHoF Initiative’s ability to make a significant impact in the fight against trafficking and violence.
Hajia Lami Tumaka, a board member of the MMS WoFHoF Initiative, thanked NAPTIP for its trust in the organisation. She encouraged the agency’s staff to cooperate fully to ensure that this initiative is successful.
Mr. Kingsley Anaroke, the CEO of MMS WoFHoF Initiative, encouraged NAPTIP to utilise the NGO’s resources to maximise their impact in the community and build a lasting presence in their efforts.
This new partnership marks an important step forward in addressing the critical issues of human trafficking and gender-based violence, aiming to create safer environments for everyone involved.
