Suspected herdsmen strike Tiv community in Nasarawa, kill village head, abduct others

Tse Yange, a predominantly Tiv community in Obi Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, was the target of a brutal assault believed to have been carried out by suspected herdsmen. The attack happened late on Sunday night, plunging the peaceful village into chaos.

Reports indicate that the assailants stormed the community on motorbikes, unleashing terror and destruction upon residents. During the raid, the attackers reportedly killed the village head, a significant loss to the community, and abducted several residents.

Sources on the ground revealed that the assault persisted into the early hours of Monday, leaving many villagers injured and causing widespread panic. The attack also prompted the mass evacuation of some homes, leaving parts of the community deserted.
