Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez Celebrate Their Wedding in Venice

Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez officially tied the knot on Friday night in the picturesque setting of Venice. Lauren Sánchez shared the joyous news herself, posting a stunning photo in a lacy white wedding gown, looking ecstatic, alongside her groom, dressed in a classic tuxedo. She proudly announced herself as Lauren Sánchez Bezos.

The intimate ceremony, marking the second marriage for both, took place on San Giorgio Island, nestled amid Venice’s lush waterways and facing the historic Doge’s Palace. Earlier that evening, the couple and around 200 guests, all dressed in high fashion, arrived by motorboat, setting the scene for a truly high-profile celebration.

From the shores opposite San Giorgio, the assembled crowd cheered as Matteo Bocelli—son of renowned tenor Andrea Bocelli—performed an emotional love song, adding a heartfelt touch to the magical evening.

This exclusive wedding of the tech magnate—who owns The Washington Post and is among the world’s wealthiest individuals—was part of a lavish three-day celebration that drew extensive attention and some controversy alike.

Guest at the wedding

Confirming the nuptials, Vogue magazine released a special cover featuring Lauren in a stunning Dolce & Gabbana dress. The guest list was kept tightly under wraps, but it featured a star-studded array of friends, family, billionaires, and celebrities. Guests began arriving days earlier on private jets and luxury yachts that dotted Venice’s lagoons.

Photographers and paparazzi mobbed the area, capturing images of the notable attendees—including Oprah Winfrey, Barry Diller, the Kardashian and Jenner families, Orlando Bloom, Leonardo DiCaprio, Usher, Jewel, and even NFL legend Tom Brady. Prominent figures from the tech world like Bill Gates and OpenAI’s Sam Altman, also made appearances, symbolising Bezos’s roots in the digital economy.

Despite owning The Washington Post, which has at times been critical of the Trump administration, Bezos has cultivated friendships across political lines. Notably, President Trump did not attend the wedding, but Ivanka Trump with her husband Jared Kushner, Jared’s brother Josh, and model Karlie Kloss were among the guests.

The celebrations kicked off on Thursday with a lively party at Venice’s Madonna dell’Orto cloister—though it was temporarily disrupted by a sudden thunderstorm. The festivities are expected to continue on Saturday with a reception at a historic former shipyard, promising more memorable moments for the newlyweds and their guests.
