Simply put, any Igbo politician that wastes his breath either pleading, compelling or trying to persuade Ndigbo to appreciate, or support President Tinubu as the Minister of works Dave Umahi often does at any given chance, that politician is either deluded and completely out of touch with the reality at the least or at the worst case scenario that politician is clearly an enemy of Ndigbo because a friend to my enemy is my enemy.

If they are completely oblivious or insensitive to what the Igbos have experienced and are continuing to endure under this administration then they lack the moral grounds and clarity to appeal to Ndigbo to appreciate those who have not hidden their disdain for them through manifest actions and empirical experience.

Ndigbo did not make President Tinubu their enemy. In fact it is the direct opposite.
Upon the assumption of the office in 2015 the APC Buhari and Tinubu declared war on the Igbos and the SouthEast region. The destabilization of the once peaceful region began and has never seized till today. The python and the crocodile were all unleashed on the region and till this day those dangerous predators have not left. The war declared on the region by Buhari has not been called off as the military and other security occupations of the region are pretty much intact with its attending devastating consequences. Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is still under detention even as the buck stops on his table.

If anything, Pres. Tinubu upon assuming office doubled down on some of the malicious policies targeted at the Igbos under late Buhari who was himself an active participant in the 1967 to 70 Porgrom and genocide against the people of the old Eastern Nigeria.

That war of attrition declared by the Buhari administration is still ongoing with orchestrated violence, tactical siege with military Occupation. Economic sabotage and emasculation are all being carried out at different levels and at any opportunity and Ndigbo must applaud and praise them for this?😡

Then under President Tinubu’s leadership Ndigbo especially and perhaps other people have been swept off from all relevant participation in the Affairs of Nigeria as mandated by the Constitution and the law. Where’s the Deputy Speaker and other Igbo politicians on the issue of Federal Character? Where’s Dave Umahi on the demolition he has championed in some instances 🤷🏾‍♂️. The South East has been practically
neglected under his watch. Instead Gov. Umahi has become an O’kamma Na ezi Number one of Igbo land. When they say jump! He simply asks: how high? Yet he wastes his breath creating the impression that Ndigbo are somehow listening to him or the likes of Deputy Speaker Hon. Ben Kalu.

Ndigbo are neither naive nor stupid as some of these politicians tend to think. Ihe anya huru ama anaghi agba ya. We need no mirror to view the ringworm on their fingers. As it stands today, Ndigbo are fully aware of the cold and clandestine war targeted against them on different fronts. It is so bad now that it has taken the dimension that even made the end of the Genocidal war look like a Nirvana. Yet some people are busy dwelling in fools paradise and preaching to Ndigbo to follow them to the dead end.

The Minister of Works Dave Umahi is occupying one of the positions due to the region as mandated by law. But when you hear him talk he speaks like someone that fell from the skies. He’s now practically living in Lagos where he’s busy rebuilding the bridges and building highways day and night in Lagos and the Western Axis. But at any chance he gets he will be shouting at Ndigbo to appreciate Tinubu yet President Tinubu and his close circle clannish administration continue to embarrass their Igbo apologists and their political allies as the ethnic bigots like Bayo Onanuga have never attempted to give them any grounds for them to make a convincing case for them to be appreciated or for Ndigbo to even pause to have a re-think about supporting his re election in 2027. Instead Tinubu in his miscalculation and hubris is attempting to balance a tripod chair on one leg only in a complex society like Nigeria.

Under the watch of this president his people in Lagos especially the Urban terrorists like MC Oluomo and other Agberos have terrorized the Igbos especially during the 2023 elections, and then afterwards he was elevated and rewarded for harming the Igbos. And today the replacement of MC Oluomo is threatening Ndigbo not to even step out on the election day in Lagos speak more of attempting to exercise their rights as Nigerian citizens to vote. They have become increasingly brazen and ferocious in their naked aggression towards Ndigbo in Lagos using the levers of both federal and state powers to intimidate, harass and arrest any person based on any claims or allegations. They have continued on their targeted demolition of properties belonging to Ndigbo at Alaba International, Tradefair and so many other places. These actions some of the ignorant apologists amongst us have either rationalized or are simply ambivalent while urging us to appreciate President Tinubu for
reluctantly giving Ndigbo what’s due to them. What in reality is rightly theirs. How can anyone even dare attempt to implore Ndigbo not to be outraged when they have cornered their wealth: the Oil and gas in Alaigbo especially Imo state. The gas master plan officially circumvented Alaigbo until much pressure yielded partial result. Where are those urging Ndigbo to appreciate Tinubu on all these? What’s holding the Seaports that Buhari approved in Principle? Why is the Nigerian Ports Authority dragging their feet to whose benefit and advantage?

The prevailing situations in Lagos which has been left unchecked may yet spin out of control and lead to some kind of intractable urban crises and chaos as we once saw in Abidjan when the former President Gbaggbo attempted to weaponize tribalism and hate for his political gains. The once peaceful and beautiful city of Abidjan nearly went down in ruins and the President ended up at the ICC at the Hague.

So let those who wish for their political benefactors and Godfathers like President Tinubu to be loved and appreciated by Ndigbo that if they wished to be loved, they must also show love. If they wish to be trusted they must prove to be trustworthy. If they desire peace, they must give peace a chance. The time is ticking…. ⏰
It is all in their hands and it is within reach.
