Despite current economic pressures, the Tincan Island Customs Command has continued to assert its leadership in revenue generation, anti-smuggling operations, and trade facilitation—all under the steady stewardship of Comptroller Frank Onyeka.

In November 2025 alone, the command generated ₦135,210,533,902.89, surpassing the ₦120,196,625,585.37 recorded during the same period in 2024. Between January and November 2025, total collections climbed to an impressive ₦1,451,302,144,680.89.

Strong Anti-Smuggling Measures

Reiterating his stance against smuggling, Comptroller Onyeka revealed that the command intercepted multiple consignments of illicit substances—including cannabis indica, methamphetamine, and other hard drugs—concealed within imported containers.
These seizures, notably in October 2025, carried an estimated street value of ₦5.304 billion, underscoring the command’s vigilance in securing the nation’s borders

Trade Facilitation Through Innovation

Comptroller Onyeka has been widely commended for embracing modern trade tools such as the Advance Ruling System and the Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) Programme, which have contributed to smoother, more predictable trade processes.

The transition from NICIS II to the new B’Odogwu software platform presented initial challenges, but under his leadership, the command successfully eased operational bottlenecks.
The introduction of the One-Stop Shop and the upcoming National Single Window, scheduled for launch next January, are expected to further enhance operational efficiency.

At the Comptroller-General of Customs (CGC) Conference, the Tincan Island Command—represented by Comptroller Onyeka—received two major awards:
• Best in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)
• Recognition for his pivotal role in introducing the B’Odogwu platform
