The Controller of PTML Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service, Comptroller Joe Anani, has announced that the command generated ₦424.58 billion in revenue as of Friday, December 12, 2025.

He made this known at the 2025 end-of-year party organised by the Customs Officers’ Wives Association (COWA), PTML Chapter. According to him, the strong revenue performance shows the benefits of fully implementing the Unified Customs Management System (UCMS), also known as B’Odogwu.

Anani said the command has already exceeded its 2024 revenue total of ₦362.5 billion by more than ₦62 billion, even before the end of the year. He described 2025 as a productive year marked by major achievements under the leadership of the Comptroller-General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi.

Looking ahead, the controller said the command is working towards achieving a one-hour cargo clearance time for compliant Roll-On Roll-Off (RoRo) cargoes in 2026.

On anti-smuggling efforts, Anani highlighted the command’s role in stopping illegal and expired drugs, arms, ammunition, and other prohibited items from entering the country. He noted that the seizure of cocaine valued at ₦29.4 billion, which was handed over to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), was one of the command’s major successes.

He credited the achievements to strong collaboration with stakeholders and thanked agencies such as the Nigeria Police, Department of State Services, Standards Organisation of Nigeria, and the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control for their support.

Also speaking at the event, COWA PTML Chairperson, Mrs Caroline Ifeoluwa Anani, said the celebration reflected the command’s spirit of unity. She explained that COWA played an active role in supporting productivity in 2025, stressing that a stable home contributes to a productive workforce.

She listed COWA’s activities during the year to include mental health awareness programmes, health screenings, eye care services with medicated glasses, seminars on home management and nutrition, and the distribution of souvenirs to members. The event ended with the donation of food items to women and children in the spirit of Christmas.
