In a strategic move to strengthen Nigeria’s maritime sector, the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) has renewed its partnership with the World Maritime University (WMU) in Malmö, Sweden. The renewal comes through a four-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) focused on expanding Nigeria’s maritime human capital and institutional capacity.

Key highlight: NIMASA will sponsor 10 staff members each year to pursue master’s degrees, underscoring the agency’s commitment to advanced training and leadership development within the Nigerian maritime community. The MoU signing ceremony marked a renewed collaboration aimed at driving capacity-building, research, and practical expertise essential for Nigeria’s maritime growth.
