The Lagos State Government has announced how traffic will move while maintenance work happens on Mazamaza Bridge along the Lagos–Badagry road.

Work will affect the bridge’s service lane and toll lane for both directions, starting Monday, Jan. 19 and ending Thursday, May 28 (18 weeks), The bridge will not be fully closed at any time. Traffic will be managed with diversions between the toll lane, the BRT lane, and the service lane., The project will run in phases:

• • Phase 1: Jan. 24–Jan. 30 (one week)
  • Phases 1–4: Jan. 31–Mar 30 (eight weeks) covering the Badagry direction
  • Phases 5–8: Mar. 31–Jun. 2 (nine weeks) covering the Lagos direction
  • During repairs, traffic will be redirected along designated routes. For example:
    • Phases 1–2 (Badagry bound, toll lane): traffic will be redirected to the BRT corridor and rejoin the toll lane 50 meters past the work zone.
    • Phases 3–4 (Badagry bound, service lane): vehicles will move through but be redirected to one of the two other lanes as they approach the work zone, then regain full access afterwards.
    • Phases 5–6 (Lagos-bound, toll lane): traffic diverted to the BRT corridor; vehicles rejoin the toll lane 50 meters past the site.
    • Phases 7–8 (Lagos-bound, service lane): Two lanes may be reduced to one near the work zone; full access returns after the zone.
