Nigeria Police under AIG Adegoke Fayoade’s Zone 2 Command arrest suspect over adulterated engine oil syndicate

Operatives of the Nigerian police force have arrested a suspect linked to the illegal production and distribution of adulterated engine oil across several parts of the country.

The arrest was carried out by the Zone 2 Command under the leadership of Adegoke M Fayoade following a petition alleging widespread circulation of fake lubricants in the Nigerian market.

Investigation and arrest

According to police spokesperson Afolayab Gbenga the complaint was submitted to the Zone 2 Zonal Command headquarters located in Onikan Lagos state

The matter was immediately referred to the Anti-Piracy Unit for investigation.

Detectives launched a covert operation which led to the arrest of 26-year-old Ngwu Samuel Ebezimakor

Police said the suspect admitted to importing fake lubricants from china and distributing them nationwide.

Seizures across multiple states

Further intelligence-led raids resulted in the recovery of about 280 gallons of adulterated engine oil from locations in: Imo state, Enugu state, Kano state , lagos state, Ogun state

Standards violation confirmed

• The seized products were examined by the standards organization of Nigeria which confirmed they failed to meet Nigerian Industrial Standards.

Police assurance

The command said it remains committed to combating product adulteration and economic sabotage, protecting consumers, and ensuring offenders face prosecution.
