Armed bandits have struck in Ondo State, destroying two buildings and kidnapping a nine-year-old boy in a brazen early morning attack.

The incident occurred in the Igbosi area of Idogun, Ose Local Government Area, around 1:00 AM on June 5, 2026. The abducted child, Oluwatobi, is the son of local pastor Isaac Olaosebikan.

Gunshots from the attackers sent residents fleeing to neighbouring areas for safety as the bandits carried out the assault.

Security forces, including the Ondo State Police and the Amotekun Corps, have launched a search and rescue operation. They are actively combing nearby forests and escape routes in an effort to locate the child and apprehend the kidnappers.

The state police commissioner has directed all relevant security units to intensify efforts, it looks like Southwest is captured, with investigations underway to ensure the immediate rescue of the victim.
