Tinubu Approves N10 Billion for Ebola Preparedness

President Bola Tinubu has approved N10 billion in emergency funds to prepare Nigeria for a possible Ebola outbreak. The decision follows recent Ebola cases reported in other parts of Africa.

The money will help the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and Prevention improve its readiness and support key public health response activities.

A Presidential Task Force on Ebola Preparedness will be set up, led by Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila. The government is also ramping up border surveillance, screening passengers at airports, and requiring health declarations from travellers coming from high-risk areas.

Other measures include regular disinfection of airport facilities and working with security and aviation agencies to manage flights from affected regions.
