At least 20 people have been killed in a bandit attack on the Fesken Rafi community in Kebbi State, raising fresh concerns over insecurity in the region.

Deputy Governor Umar Tafida led a condolence visit to the community and said the government is committed to improving security. He assured residents that additional security personnel would be deployed to the area.

The Chairman of Arewa Local Government commended the government’s response but stressed the need for better infrastructure to support security efforts and boost economic activities.

Traditional leaders in the area also voiced concerns over ongoing security challenges affecting rural communities, despite government efforts to tackle banditry.
