Plateau Grocery Seller Wins ₦5 Million in Nestlé Golden Morn Golden Hunt
A small-scale grocery seller from Plateau State, Ejiofor Akujieze, has emerged as the grand prize winner of ₦5 million in the Golden Morn Golden Hunt, a nationwide consumer campaign organised by Nestlé Nigeria.
The campaign rewarded Nigerians with a total of ₦80 million in cash and prizes, attracting more than 200,000 entries from consumers across the country.
Akujieze, who said he was surprised by the win, described the prize as a life-changing opportunity.
“It came as a shock to me. I won ₦5 million, and it will go a long way. I am very grateful,” he said.
According to him, the money will be used to expand his grocery business.
The Golden Morn Golden Hunt began in January 2026 and was designed around Golden Morn’s smaller and more affordable pack sizes, allowing more consumers to participate.
Following seven draws, a total of 16,324 winners emerged. The winners received cash prizes ranging from ₦10,000 to ₦1 million, as well as airtime and other prizes including washing machines, MacBooks, iPhones and 55-inch televisions.
Speaking on the campaign, Omofasa Orhiunu, Category Manager, Healthy Cereals at Nestlé Nigeria, said the initiative was designed to strengthen the brand’s relationship with consumers while giving more Nigerians an opportunity to enjoy Golden Morn.
“Golden Morn has been part of everyday life for Nigerian families, and with the Golden Hunt, we wanted more people to experience that,” he said.
He added that the campaign provided both existing and new consumers with an opportunity to enjoy the product while also receiving rewards through a simple and accessible process.
Wassim Elhusseini, Managing Director and CEO of Nestlé Nigeria Plc, said the campaign was part of the company’s efforts to create value for consumers beyond its products.
“For over 40 years, Golden Morn has been nourishing Nigerian families and earning their trust,” he said.
Elhusseini said the Golden Hunt was Nestlé’s way of recognising that trust and giving back to consumers in a meaningful and inclusive manner.
He noted that the personal stories behind the winning moments were particularly encouraging, as the rewards were making a difference in the lives of consumers.
Golden Morn remains one of Nestlé Nigeria’s long-standing homegrown brands, providing nourishment through carefully selected grains and its Grain Smart blend, which contains essential vitamins and minerals.
Nestlé Nigeria said initiatives such as the Golden Morn Golden Hunt are part of its efforts to strengthen its relationship with consumers, provide accessible and nutritious food products and support communities across Nigeria.
