Mrs Rukayat Muhammed was arrested in the case disclosed on Saturday by the FCT Commissioner of Police, CP Mohammed Sanusi, at a press conference in Abuja.

According to the CP, the suspect and the deceased had checked into Good Samaritan Guest House on 2nd Avenue, Gwarampa, to spend time together. The man was later found dead.

Sanusi said the suspect allegedly did not raise an alarm after discovering the man was no longer breathing. Instead, she reportedly left the hotel with his mobile phone.

The deceased’s body was discovered on August 26, 2026, along the Kubwa Expressway by Katampe, under the bridge.

Police said the case was first treated as a possible “one chance” incident, while the man’s family had earlier reported him missing.

“When the lifeless body was subsequently discovered by the roadside, our investigators began working to establish whether it could be connected to the earlier missing person report,” Sanusi said.

“Through painstaking investigation, we were led to ultimately confirm that the deceased was the same person whose disappearance had earlier been reported by his family.”

Police said the investigation is ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the man’s death and how his body was moved from the hotel to the roadside.
