rOn Sunday, February 22, 2025, family, friends, and well-wishers gathered at The Establishment Hotel in Lagos to honour the one-year remembrance of the late Bishop Festus Oluwole Adepoju. This poignant event, organized by his devoted wife, beautifully showcased the power of love that transcends cultural boundaries between their Yoruba and Igbo backgrounds.

Bishop Adepoju, who passed away in December  2023, was a revered spiritual leader and educator, known for his commitment to fostering unity in Nigeria’s diverse communities. His marriage to an Igbo woman and his lovely daughter’s marriage to a Tiv man serves as a powerful testament to love’s ability to overcome ethnic differences, inspiring many along the way.

The remembrance service was filled with heartfelt tributes from attendees, who shared touching stories about the bishop’s profound impact on their lives and communities. His wife spoke with deep emotion, reflecting on their years together and expressing her gratitude for their shared journey, my life is empty without my husband, she said.

“Today, I celebrate not just my husband’s life, but the love we built together,” she said. “His legacy teaches us that love knows no boundaries and that we should cherish every moment.” with love, faith and greafulness in God, exact the words he lived on.

Among the guests were Agume’s family from Benue State, AIG Fayoade Adegoke, staff and students from Wolex Polytechnic and Westland University and many others. Each tribute highlighted the late bishop’s significant contributions and the lasting impression he left on those around him.
