 Key Changes in Passport Fees

For applications within Nigeria, the new rates are:

• ₦100,000 – 32-page booklet, 5-year validity

• ₦200,000 – 64-page booklet, 10-year validity

For diaspora applicants, fees remain unchanged (for now):

• $150 – 32-page booklet, 5-year validity

• $230 – 64-page booklet, 10-year validity

 Why the Increase?

According to the NIS, the adjustment is designed to:

• Maintain the quality and integrity of the Nigerian Standard Passport

• Improve service accessibility and efficiency

• Align with international standards for secure travel documents

 Who Will Be Affected?

• Residents in Nigeria will pay the revised rates starting September 1, 2025.

• Nigerians abroad: Please continue to pay your existing fees until further notice.

• The diaspora fee structure remains the same for now.

• The government’s commitment to better service delivery is unchanged, with promises of improved efficiency and security features in the new passport system.

 What Applicants Should Keep in Mind

If you’re applying in Nigeria after the new policy kicks in:

• Set aside ₦100,000 for the 32-page option, or ₦200,000 for the 64-page option.

If you’re applying from abroad:
