The Nigerian Navy has handed over a substantial cannabis seizure to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) as part of ongoing efforts to curb illicit drug trafficking and bolster maritime security in Lagos State.

• A van loaded with suspected cannabis sativa was intercepted by a naval team in Lagos. The vehicle was abandoned by the suspects who fled when sighted by patrols.
• The Nigerian Navy Ship (NNS) BEECROFT, under the leadership of Commodore Paul Nimmyel, and represented by Capt. Idongesit Udoessien, Executive Officer of NNS BEECROFT, handed over 20 bags weighing a total of 840 kilograms to the NDLEA at a handover ceremony held at the naval base in Apapa, Lagos.
• The seizure was conducted with the Base Quick Response Team, supported by Operation MESA personnel.
