At the Apapa port, Nigerian customs officers found 25.5 kilograms of cocaine being carried on a Brazilian ship called MV San Anthonio. The drugs were hidden inside five bags and 24 small packages. The ship is now being held as investigators look into how the drugs got on board.

The head of the Apapa port, Comptroller Emmanuel Oshoba, gave praise to both the customs service and the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) for working together.

The ship’s journey started in Brazil and included several port stops in Central America. Officials say these routes can be linked to illegal activity, which is why authorities keep a close watch.

The drugs were handed over to the NDLEA for further action. The ship stays held while investigators continue.

Customs says they won’t let crime taint Nigeria’s ports and will keep security a top priority, especially as the holidays approach.
