There would be no negotiated settlements, no ransom payments, and no legitimisation of armed groups terrorising communities,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Musa called on governors to align with the federal security strategy, stating that sustained military pressure, intelligence-led operations, and community cooperation remain the only viable path to restoring peace.<\/p>\n<p>The minister\u2019s warning followed growing public outrage over reports of state-level peace initiatives and planned releases of suspected bandits, moves critics say undermine justice and demoralise security forces.<\/p>\n<p>Musa, in the same vein, appealed to citizens to stop aiding bandits with food, money, or information, warning that such support fuels violence and delays national stability.<\/p>\n<p>The Katsina State Government is alleged to have initiated the process for the release of approximately 70 suspected and convicted bandits.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"mvp-content-bot\" class=\"left\">\n<div id=\"mvp-prev-next-wrap\" class=\"left relative\">\n<div class=\"mvp-prev-post-wrap left relative\">\n<div class=\"mvp-prev-next-cont left relative\">\n<div class=\"mvp-prev-cont-out right relative\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Minister of Defence, General Christopher Musa, rtd, has warned state governments to steer clear of any proposed peace deal with bandits.
