The initiative is one of the Federal Government’s most important reforms aimed at modernizing port operations, improving transparency, and reducing delays in cargo clearance.

In a message shared with stakeholders, the NSW management said the Support Centre is located at 34 Wharf Road, Apapa. The choice of location is intentional, as it is close to the busiest concentration of port activities in the country.

The Centre is expected to support a wide range of stakeholders, including freight forwarders, licensed customs agents, haulage operators, importers and exporters, terminal operators, and other supply-chain players who may face challenges while onboarding or using the platform.

According to the management, the Support Centre will be staffed with trained personnel who will provide real-time guidance, troubleshooting support, and technical assistance as users get familiar with the new system.

To ensure that support is accessible to people outside Lagos, or those who may not be able to visit physically, the NSW Helpdesk has been activated through several channels. Stakeholders can reach the Helpdesk via:

Telephone: 02018870011

WhatsApp: 07047002215

Email: helpdesk@nsw.gov.ng

The management said these channels are designed to respond with enough speed and capacity to resolve enquiries promptly and limit disruption to business operations.

NSW officials also emphasised that the platform will only deliver its full benefits if users are onboarded correctly and use its features properly. They urged port operators to take advantage of the Support Centre and Helpdesk services, noting that widespread adoption is key to accelerating Nigeria’s shift to a more efficient, paperless trade environment.

The National Single Window is a Federal Government initiative created to bring all port-related processes—such as documentation, permits, licenses, payments, and regulatory approvals—onto one digital platform. By linking government agencies, shipping companies, terminal operators, and traders in a single system, the NSW aims to:

remove manual paperwork

reduce human involvement and the chances of corruption

Cut down cargo dwell time

improve transparency and accountability

lower logistics costs

strengthen Nigeria’s competitiveness in regional and global trade

Its go-live marks the move from controlled pilot testing to full commercial operations across Nigeria’s seaports, airports, border stations, and regulatory agencies.

Industry observers have described the launch of the Support Centre and the quick activation of the Helpdesk as a proactive step, showing the Federal Government’s commitment to making sure the platform works as intended.

With the NSW now running, stakeholders expect better cargo clearance timelines, improved predictability, and stronger alignment of port processes with global digital trade standards. The NSW management also confirmed that it will continue providing support, system upgrades, and user education as Nigeria enters this next phase of trade modernisation.

The National Single Window (NSW) management has announced that a fully equipped Support Centre has been set up in Apapa, Lagos, to help port users transition smoothly after the platform’s official go-live.
