Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, has lamented that the wage increase demands being made by organized labour are not realistic.<\/p>\n

Akume said this in Abuja on Thursday during a meeting with the National Executive Council, NEC, of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN.<\/p>\n

The former Benue State Governor appealed to the Christian community for support as the tripartite Committee on minimum wage continues with negotiations.<\/p>\n

According to him, paying a minimum wage of N100,000 to his drivers will be a difficult responsibility.<\/p>\n

\u201cI can\u2019t afford to pay my driver one hundred thousand because they are four,\u201d Akume lamented.<\/p>\n

He decried the demands made by the organised labour, adding, \u201cWhere do we get that money from?\u201d<\/p>\n

Akume earlier said, the organized labour committed treason by shutting down the national grid\u00a0 and airport during the nationwide strike<\/p>\n
