Some individuals from Borno State reportedly told President Bola Tinubu that Shettima was plotting to assassinate him and take over power.<\/p>\n<p>Shettima made this revelation at the launch of General Yakubu Gowon&#8217;s autobiography in Abuja. He said these individuals tried to create distrust between him and the President, even linking the alleged plot to some clothes he had gifted Tinubu.<\/p>\n<p>According to Shettima, when Tinubu heard the accusations, he called him directly. The President dismissed the claims, recognising how unlikely they were \u2014 especially since the clothes in question were given during the election campaign, when neither of them was in power.<\/p>\n<p>Shettima used the incident to warn against divisive politics.
