The Operatives of the Ondo State Security Network Agency, otherwise known as the Amotekun Corps, have apprehended some persons disguising themselves as lunatics to perpetrate crimes in some parts of the state.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The arrested fake lunatics were alleged to be involved in kidnapping and drug trafficking as well as robbery operations.<\/p>\n

While disclosing the development, the Amotekun commander in the state, Adetunji Adeleye, disclosed that the new tactics adopted by criminals were uncovered following intelligence received on the modus operandi of the suspects.<\/p>\n

According to Adeleye, the fake lunatics were among the 98 suspected criminals arrested across the state during the corps\u2019 anti-kidnapping operations.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur intelligence and plainclothes officers monitored and tracked them to places where they charged their phones, changed clothes, and coordinated operations before they were arrested,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n

With the commander parading the suspects at the corps headquarters in Akure, the state capital, he narrated how Amotekun operatives rescued a kidnapped couple without the payment of ransom.<\/p>\n

He explained that the agency\u2019s rapid response team immediately moved into the forest after receiving distress information, leading to the rescue of the female victim, while an overnight operation eventually secured the release of her husband.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/article>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
