Adeniyi will now remain in office until February 2027.<\/p>\n<p>Adeniyi has received two tenure extensions in total from President Tinubu, which has drawn reactions from Nigerians questioning whether there is no other customs officer capable of that position. First, he received a tenure extension that was set to expire on August 1, 2026. This current one is another six-month tenure extension (his second), now expiring in February 2027.<\/p>\n<p>This is the second time Adeniyi has received a tenure extension.<\/p>\n<p>During the extended period, Adeniyi is expected to push forward the implementation of the National Single Window system and manage the service&#8217;s succession plan.
