Michael Onoja, Director of Defence Media Operations, shared the details at the monthly military briefing in Abuja on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>During the period, troops arrested 43 criminals and rescued 38 civilians in the South-South region. Onoja said these results continued to frustrate the work of economic saboteurs.<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s a rundown of the major operations:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>On Aug. 1\u20132, troops dismantled three reactivated illegal refining sites in the Ogba-Egbema-Ndoni axis of Rivers State and recovered 61,000 litres of stolen crude and illegally refined AGO.<\/li>\n<li>On Aug. 5, they discovered 85,300 litres of crude oil products in the same area.<\/li>\n<li>On Aug. 6, an offensive at Oteghele in Delta State yielded 105,000 litres of suspected stolen crude.<\/li>\n<li>On Aug. 7, Operation Delta Sentinel recovered 24,000 litres at Bethel Community in Bonny LGA and intercepted a speedboat carrying 17,000 litres of illegally refined AGO along the Onne-Okrika waterways.<\/li>\n<li>On Aug. 15, troops disrupted three illegal refining sites in the Egbema axis, recovering 85,000 litres of illegally refined AGO hidden in pits and reservoirs, plus 93,000 litres around Allison Community in Bonny on Aug. 20.<\/li>\n<li>On Aug. 22, Nigerian Navy Ship PATHFINDER disrupted three sites near Ohaji and recovered about 103,000 litres of suspected illegally refined AGO.<\/li>\n<li>On Aug. 27, troops intercepted two tanker trucks attempting to siphon crude at Aleto in the Eleme Local Government Area of Rivers.<\/li>\n<li>Troops of Operation UDO KA also intercepted vehicles carrying illegally refined products along the Agwa-Ejemekuru Road in Imo State.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Onoja noted that crude oil recovery surged by 174.2 per cent in August, after falling 18.8 per cent in July.
