The PTML Customs Command has banned the alteration of chassis numbers on imported vehicles and the cross-releasing of cargo, warning agents and other port users that violations could lead to delays, extra costs or sanctions.<\/p>\n
The directives were agreed at an October 16, 2026 meeting between the Association of Nigeria Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA), PTML Chapter, and Area Comptroller Deputy Comptroller Nura Ibrahim Miko.<\/p>\n
Under the new rules, cargo-clearance documents must carry the same agency name from the VREG stage through to final delivery. Chassis numbers must stay accurate and consistent across documentation, assessment, examination and clearance.<\/p>\n
Agents are also required to confirm the shade or location of their cargo before assessment. If the cargo is elsewhere, they should request reassignment through the PA’s Office at no cost instead of attempting a cross-release.<\/p>\n
ANLCA urged members, importers and other port users to comply, saying the rules would promote transparency, operational discipline and more efficient cargo clearance.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
