{"id":2779,"date":"2024-10-03T11:12:46","date_gmt":"2024-10-03T11:12:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/beadysword.com.ng\/blog\/?p=2779"},"modified":"2024-10-03T11:12:46","modified_gmt":"2024-10-03T11:12:46","slug":"rivers-rivers-tight-security-as-pdp-members-protest-against-lg-polls","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/beadysword.com.ng\/blog\/2024\/10\/03\/rivers-rivers-tight-security-as-pdp-members-protest-against-lg-polls\/","title":{"rendered":"Rivers: Rivers: Tight Security As PDP Members Protest Against LG Polls"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"section-inner\">\n<div class=\"post-content detail-grid grid-alignright grid-allow-pullout\">\n<p><strong>Members of the Rivers State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party have staged a protest march to the Department of State Security office and the Government House both in Port Harcourt the Rivers state capital.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The massive presence of security officers as the protesters had initially gathered in large numbers at the PDP secretariat.<\/p>\n<p>As of the time of filing this report, the large number of protesters had caused slow movement of vehicles on the road, as security officers struggled to control the crowd.<\/p>\n<p>The protesters were later seen carrying placards and banners, chanting songs in protest and running along the highway.<\/p>\n<p>One of the displayed banners reads \u201cTAI people say no to lawlessness. Say no to LGA election. RSIEC must obey court judgment.
