{"id":2828,"date":"2024-10-12T10:30:34","date_gmt":"2024-10-12T10:30:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/beadysword.com.ng\/blog\/?p=2828"},"modified":"2024-10-12T10:30:51","modified_gmt":"2024-10-12T10:30:51","slug":"kano-governor-donates-%e2%82%a6100m-to-market-fire-victims","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/beadysword.com.ng\/blog\/2024\/10\/12\/kano-governor-donates-%e2%82%a6100m-to-market-fire-victims\/","title":{"rendered":"Kano Governor Donates \u20a6100m To Market Fire Victims"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"section-inner\">\n<div class=\"post-content detail-grid grid-alignright grid-allow-pullout\">\n<p><strong>The Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf has donated \u20a6100m to victims of the recent fire incident that ravaged Kantin Kwari Textile Market.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The donation was made during his visit to the market, where he expressed solidarity with the affected traders.<\/p>\n<p>Governor Yusuf explained that the fund is aimed at alleviating the impact of the tragedy.<\/p>\n<p>He said, \u201cWhile this money cannot fully compensate for the losses suffered, it is intended to help ease the burden on those affected.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He also announced several initiatives aimed at improving market infrastructure and preventing future disasters. \u201cWe plan to install solar-powered street lights, rehabilitate the road network, construct drainages, and provide motorized boreholes to improve conditions at the market,\u201d the governor stated.<\/p>\n<p>The fire, which destroyed 29 shops, was quickly contained by the swift response of firefighters.<\/p>\n<p>Alhaji Hamisu Sa\u2019ad Dogon Nama, Managing Director of Kantin Kwari Market Management Board, expressed his appreciation for the rescue efforts.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are grateful to the firefighters and first responders who prevented the fire from spreading further. Their timely intervention made a difference,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Chairman of the Market Elders Committee, Alhaji Sabu\u2019u Bako also praised the governor for his support, while urging the state government to address other operational challenges the traders face.<\/p>\n<p>Bako said, \u201cWe thank His Excellency for his concern, and we hope the government can help us resolve some of the ongoing issues at the market.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In response, Governor Yusuf reassured the traders of the state\u2019s commitment to strengthening Kano\u2019s position as the commercial hub of Northern Nigeria and beyond. \u201cWe are determined to keep Kano thriving as a centre of commerce not just for Nigeria, but for West Africa,\u201d he affirmed.<\/p>\n<p>The governor\u2019s visit and the financial aid have been widely appreciated by traders and community leaders alike, who see it as a step toward rebuilding and enhancing the market\u2019s resilience in the face of future challenges.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"comments\"><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf has donated \u20a6100m to victims of the recent fire incident that ravaged Kantin Kwari Textile Market.
