It was Pomp and ceremony on Sunday as Lion Uloaku Okerulu was installed as the seventh president of Anthony Village Diamond\u00a0 Lions Club District 404A3 Nigeria by the District Governor Lion Dr Folasade Shotomide on 10th November 2024 at Top Rank\u00a0 Hotel , Opebi off salvation Ikeja lagos Nigeria.<\/p>\n

The event was also used to install other executive members of the club for the 2024\/25 Lions Club service year and raise funds for activities that have been planned for the year by the newly installed president Uloaku.<\/p>\n

Speaking at the event, Lion Joyce Akpata as Guest speaker , a lawyer and an advocate, said that Government can not do it alone, but working togethet, we can do many things , she encourage, Anthony village diamiond lions club members, friends and wellwisher to support the newly insttetled president and her excutives\u00a0 to achieve greatness with their legacy\u00a0 taking of project which is, Conducting 200 free cataract surgeries to restore sight in lagos, this needs money, be rest assured that every money you donated her today, will be putting smiles in someones live she said.<\/p>\n

Also speaking at the event was the Chairman of the event, Bar George Micheal who was\u00a0 Represented by Pastor Uche Chima , encouraged memebers of Anthony diamond lions club , friends and well wishers, everyone to be part of this humanity job, as we all are united in ones couse, becoming a beacon of hope to the less previlageand for each other for a better society he said.<\/p>\n

However, the District Governor of Lions Club District 404A3 Nigeria, Lion who decorated the newly installed president ,\u00a0 charged member of Anthony village diamond\u00a0 Lions Club and new executives\u00a0 to work as a team to realize the objectives of the club effortlesly.<\/p>\n

Lion Uloaku Okerulu during her\u00a0 acceptance speech, Oluaku\u00a0 expressed gratitude to his predecessors for their dedicated service in promoting the club\u2019s mission<\/p>\n

On behalf of the directors and all members of the Anthony Village Diamond Lions Club, I extend my heartfelt gratitude for honoring our invitation today.<\/em><\/p>\n

I want to take a moment to sincerely thank God Almighty for bringing us together on this special occasion. I am deeply grateful to Lions Club D404 A-3 for this incredible opportunity.<\/em><\/p>\n

It is both an honor and a privilege to stand before you today and wholeheartedly embrace my role as the president of the Anthony Village Diamond Lions Club.<\/em><\/p>\n

This moment is one to be cherished, and I accept this appointment with humility and a pledge to give my utmost effort to make you all proud of your choice. With God\u2019s grace and the cooperation of my fellow members, I will dedicate myself to fulfilling the obligations and responsibilities of this office.<\/em><\/p>\n

The Anthony Village Diamond Lions Club, part of District 404 A-3 and the International Association of Lions Clubs based in Oak Brook, Illinois, is a non-governmental, non-ethnic, non-religious, non-profit organization devoted to assisting those in need and supporting civic responsibilities. Chartered in July 2018, our club aims to uplift the Anthony community and encourage the less privileged to aspire to better lives.<\/em><\/p>\n

We engage in numerous service-oriented activities, including free eye clinics, diabetes and youth empowerment programs. This Lions year, our initiatives will emphasize diabetes, environmental sustainability, hunger relief, paediatric cancer, and vision care.<\/em><\/p>\n

Our motto, \u201cWe Serve,\u201d resonates with the needs of those who look to us for hope, compassion, and tangible support. As we move forward, we aim not only to honor the legacy of past achievements but also to expand our reach and impact.<\/em><\/p>\n

This Lions year, we are committed to launching several impactful initiatives, each designed to address urgent community needs and foster long-term development:<\/em><\/p>\n

Healthcare Initiatives:<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

  • Conducting 200 free cataract surgeries to restore sight.<\/em><\/li>\n
  • Distributing 1,000 free reading glasses.<\/em><\/li>\n
  • Supporting paediatric cancer patients and their families with treatment options and emotional support<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Education and Youth Empowerment:<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

      \n
    • Donating essential textbooks and learning materials to underprivileged Senior Secondary Schools.<\/em><\/li>\n
    • Introducing mentorship programs to inspire and guide students.<\/em><\/li>\n
    • Providing support to the community to stop youths from the use of drugs by raising awareness.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Nutrition and Hunger Relief:<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

      • Expanding our feeding program to reach over 2,000 people with nutritious meals.<\/em><\/li>\n
      • Establishing community gardens in partnership with local schools to promote sustainable practices.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        Environmental Sustainability:<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

        • Installing pipe-borne water systems for healthcare centers in underserved areas.<\/em><\/li>\n
        • Constructing parks and gardens for community relaxation.<\/em><\/li>\n
        • Launching an environmental awareness campaign focusing on waste management and tree planting.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          Community Infrastructure Development:<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

          • Renovating public sanitation facilities to improve health standards.<\/em><\/li>\n
