Gunmen believed to be bandits, allegedly assaulted Jumai Kefas, the mother of Taraba State Governor\u00a0 Agbu Kefas along with her daughter, Atsi Kefas.<\/div>\n

T<\/b>he incident happened today, Thursday, December 5, on Kente Road within the Wukari Local Government Area of the state.<\/p>\n

He characterized the situation as \u201cdeeply troubling\u201d. He revealed that Atsi Kefas suffered a gunshot injury during the assault, necessitating her initial treatment at the Federal Teaching Hospital in Wukari before being transferred to Abuja for further medical care.<\/p>\n

\u201cHer condition was stabilised before she was airlifted to Abuja for further medical attention<\/em>,\u201d he told Daily Post.<\/p>\n

The council chairman urged residents to stay composed and provided reassurance that measures are being taken to capture those accountable for the assault.<\/p>\n

The Taraba State Police Command corroborated the occurrence through its Public Relations Officer, Usman Abdullahi.<\/p>\n

He indicated that the incident was classified as an armed robbery, but he did not verify whether the victims had any connection to the governor.<\/p>\n

As per the police spokesperson, one individual in the vehicle suffered gunshot wounds.<\/p>\n

However, the state government had not released any official statement as of the time of filing this report.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
