Wizkid, Davido reignite long-standing feud with fiery social media exchange<\/h2>\n

The longstanding rivalry between Nigerian top artistes Davido and Wizkid appears far from over. Seven years after supposedly settling their\u00a0 supremacy rift on stage at Wizkid\u2019s concert, they are back at it again.<\/p>\n

Both artistes reconciled during Wizkid\u2019s concert at the Eko Convention Centre in Lagos. To the audience\u2019s delight, Wizkid made the first move by inviting Davido to share the stage and spotlight with him.<\/p>\n

With that gesture, Wizkid debunked speculations that he had an age-long beef with Davido as they performed the latter\u2019s hit track, Fia.<\/p>\n

It was the first time both singers would perform together.<\/p>\n

Davido and Wizkid, touted as Nigeria\u2019s biggest music acts, have engaged in a cold war fueled by their die-hard fan base for over a decade.<\/p>\n

As both artistes continue to lock horns, the 30 Billion gang and Wizkid FC have refused to back down and have taken the fight to the next level.<\/p>\n

Wizkid and Davido reignited their long-standing feud with a fiery exchange on social media, which began on Monday.<\/p>\n

Renewed fight<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The latest chapter in their saga started with a diss video uploaded by Wizkid, apparently a subtle jab at Davido.<\/p>\n

The Ojuelegba crooner posted a leaked video of Davido on his knees, crying and begging an alleged female associate.<\/p>\n

The video surfaced online in April.<\/p>\n

Wizkid, 33, posted the video, seemingly suggesting his fans needed to plead for a new song as intensely as the person in the video (implying Davido).<\/p>\n

Wizkid said fan requests alone wouldn\u2019t convince him to release a new song, but seeing video proof of their passionate pleas (like Davido does) could sway him.<\/p>\n

The post sparked a social media firestorm and ignited a frenzy among the 30 Billion gang and Wizkid FC. It also caused friction between singers Kizz Daniel, Tekno, and other artistes.<\/p>\n

However, Davido felt slight and clapped back at Wizkid on Monday night.<\/p>\n

Dead career<\/strong><\/h3>\n

In his clapback, Davido said Wizkid\u2019s songs are no longer recognised. He boasted that since he entered the music industry, Wizkid and others have not experienced peace of mind.<\/p>\n

He said, \u201cThat\u2019s what I thought. Nothing to say, exactly why I stopped wasting my clout and jeopardising my millions of USD of endorsements on someone whose career was resurrected a few years ago just to die again.\u201d<\/p>\n

The \u2018Unavailable\u2019 crooner said he would find somewhere with a beach to relax because when there\u2019s light, darkness vanishes.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have hits; he doesn\u2019t. Tell him to let\u2019s drop it. Darkness vanishes, and they give birth to him. Very well, he should drop. I\u2019m ready. I\u2019ve got 80 hits ready to go. Ayo, please activate me. He didn\u2019t fit, solo short, bitch.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Grammy-nominated singer expressed disappointment that the tour he was scheduled to embark on with Wizkid would no longer take place.<\/p>\n

On 18 January 2023, Wizkid announced on his Instagram page that he would\u00a0embark on a tour with Davido after his \u2018MLLE (More Love, Less Ego)\u2019 tour.<\/p>\n

Moreover, Davido clarified that he wouldn\u2019t let Wizkid\u2019s illness derail his focus or distract him.<\/p>\n

He said, \u201cIn 2024, let\u2019s all get active. We\u2019ll see. I can\u2019t wait until 20 years from now. E, enjoy your time.\u201d<\/p>\n

You\u2019re not above me<\/strong><\/h3>\n

In response to Davido, Wizkid stated that he (Davido) was not superior to him in the music industry.<\/p>\n

Wizkid shared the same video with diss Davido, stating, \u201cThere\u2019s no point. Delusional guys, I\u2019ll pray for you all.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cYou (Davido) and all your crew, plus your pant washer songwriter, sleep at night thinking you\u2019ve got anything on me in music. I wish you all well,\u201d Wizkid tweeted.<\/p>\n

Don Jazzy not spared<\/strong><\/h3>\n

In addition to Davido, Wizkid also took shots at Don Jazzy, the boss of Mavin Records, whom he label him influencer \u00a0<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

His jab at Don Jazzy was targeted at his (Don Jazzy\u2019s) signee Ladipoe.<\/p>\n

Ladipoe, a rapper signed to Don Jazzy\u2019s label, ridiculed Wizkid for claiming that \u2018hip hop is dead\u2019.<\/p>\n

Ladipoe, on his X, wrote, \u201cNigerian rappers that survived \u2018hip hop is dead\u2019 watching Afrobeat artistes go through their own.\u201d<\/p>\n

Wizkid, upon being alerted to the post by user \u2018miracledc12\u2019, reacted, \u201cLol, never chatting with anyone signed to an influencer. Next.\u201d<\/p>\n

Furthermore, he retweeted two tweets suggesting that he referred to Don Jazzy as an influencer.<\/p>\n

Don Jazzy, displeased by Wizkid\u2019s remark, unfollowed him on Instagram.<\/p>\n

Reactions<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The exchange between the singers set tongues wagging on social media and ignited several reactions.<\/p>\n

Singer Peruzzi and a former signee of Davido referred to Wizkid as a lizard for using a video of his former boss to ridicule a fan.<\/p>\n

Similarly, media personality Adesope Olajide, known as Shopsydoo, said Wizkid referencing Don Jazzy as an influencer was a negative portrayal of the Afrobeats culture.<\/p>\n

He said, \u201cDon Jazzy is nowhere near being an influencer; that\u2019s a disparagement of the entire culture.\u201d<\/p>\n

Furthermore, VeryDarkMan maintained that Wizkid was foolish in labeling Don Jazzy as an influencer.<\/p>\n

He emphasised that Don Jazzy facilitated Nigeria\u2019s inaugural international collaboration, underscoring that regardless of Wizkid\u2019s accomplishments, he cannot attain the\u00a0\u00a0stature of the marvin boss<\/p>\n

\u201cI refrain from involving myself in Wizkid, Davido, and Burna Boy controversies as they can never reach the calibre of Don Jazzy. However, it\u2019s regrettable that he (Don Jazzy) has lowered himself to their level.<\/p>\n

\u201cLook at Tiwa Savage and the recognition he bestowed upon her; Rema, D\u2019banj, Wande Cole, and others prospered under Don Jazzy\u2019s tutelage.\u201d<\/p>\n

VeryDarkMan added that when Don Jazzy had been making waves as a singer and producer, Wizkid was without a single song.<\/p>\n

More so, Regha questioned Wizkid\u2019s collaboration with Tiwa Savage on \u2018Ma Lo\u2019 in 2017 as Don Jazzy signee, given his claim of not communicating with anyone signed by the music producer.<\/p>\n

The social media influencer said: \u201cWizkid, you\u2019re 33 years old and a father of many children. Is this the kind of mindset you wish to teach your children?\u201d<\/p>\n

Regha claimed that Wizkid was aware of how damaging the video of Davido on his knees was, yet chose to post it to ridicule him (Davido).<\/p>\n
