In anticipation of the launch of the B\u2019Odogwu platform, the Apapa Customs Command of the Nigeria Customs Service conducted an essential training program on Wednesday for clearing agents and traders operating at the premier port. This initiative aims to equip participants with the skills necessary to effectively navigate the new digital platform and streamline cargo clearance processes.<\/p>\n

Held at the Apapa Command, the training provided a comprehensive overview of the platform\u2019s features, functionalities, and operational procedures. Assistant Controller C. Nwachukwu, the lead trainer from the B\u2019Odogwu team, guided agents through critical aspects of the platform, including the processing of Form \u2018M\u2019 and the Pre-Arrival Assessment Report (PAAR).<\/p>\n

Nwachukwu emphasized the importance of onboarding agents onto the B\u2019Odogwu application, highlighting that only those with valid licenses would be able to access the platform. She urged attendees to complete their onboarding promptly to avoid any delays once the platform is officially deployed.<\/p>\n

One of the key benefits of the B\u2019Odogwu platform, Nwachukwu noted, is the elimination of the need to process PAAR and Form \u2018M\u2019 at banks. \u201cAs a declarant, you will have your workspace on the B\u2019Odogwu application, allowing you to process your PAAR and Form \u2018M\u2019 directly on the platform,\u201d she explained. \u201cThis marks the end of the era of banking for these processes.\u201d<\/p>\n

In his opening remarks, Comptroller Babatunde Olomu underscored the significance of the training, stressing that it is vital for agents to stay informed about the platform\u2019s features. Represented by Deputy Controller Henry Eromode, Olomu encouraged participants to engage actively with the B\u2019Odogwu team, asking questions to ensure they fully grasp the new system before it goes live. \u201cThe importance of training cannot be overstated,\u201d he said. \u201cAs customs representatives, it\u2019s crucial to absorb this knowledge to facilitate a smooth transition from the old NICIS system.\u201d<\/p>\n

The introduction of the B\u2019Odogwu platform is a significant step in the Nigeria Customs Service’s ongoing efforts to modernize operations and enhance trade facilitation. The platform has already integrated key stakeholders, including terminal operators and over 20 banks, to ensure a seamless customs clearance process.<\/p>\n

As the B\u2019Odogwu platform prepares for its official launch, this training session marks a pivotal moment for clearing agents, importers, and exporters within the Apapa Area Command, setting the stage for a more efficient and streamlined customs experience.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
