This initiative, conducted from February 19 to 20, 2025, underscores the Command\u2019s steadfast commitment to fostering strong relationships with key stakeholders, bolstering security, and facilitating seamless trade in the region.<\/p>\n<p>During these visits, Comptroller Oramalugo paid respects to prominent figures, including the Oba Akran of Badagry and the Oba of Iberoko, recognizing the pivotal role that traditional institutions play in maintaining peace and stability. He emphasized the necessity of collaboration between Customs and local authorities to create a secure environment for legitimate trading activities.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to engaging with traditional leaders, Comptroller Oramalugo also visited several key security agencies, such as the Nigeria Immigration Service, the Nigerian Navy Forward Operating Base, the Nigerian Army 243 RECCE Battalion Regiment, the Nigerian Police Division in Badagry, and the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps. Discussions during these meetings focused on enhancing intelligence-sharing, improving border security, and developing a coordinated approach to combat smuggling and other transborder crimes.<\/p>\n<p>Comptroller Oramalugo highlighted that effective collaboration with stakeholders is fundamental to the Command\u2019s strategy for optimizing revenue generation, enhancing border security, and contributing to national development. He stated, \u201cOur mission at Seme Area Command goes beyond revenue collection; it extends to ensuring national security and fostering economic growth. Strong partnerships with traditional institutions and security agencies are vital in achieving these objectives.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He shared insights from his experience, explaining, \u201cWhen I was posted to the Seme Area Command of Nigeria Customs Service, the CGC instructed me to engage with all sister agencies and seek synergy to combat smuggling effectively. I need your collaboration here at Seme Command to succeed.
