At the ongoing Kaduna International Trade Fair, Dr Abubakar Dantsoho, Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), emphasized the importance of the newly simplified export processes tailored for traders and investors. He urged participants to take advantage of the opportunities available at the NPA, highlighting the authority’s commitment to fostering partnerships beyond the trade fair.<\/p>\n

During a special address, Dr. Dantsoho invited attendees to engage with the NPA’s business development team at their pavilion and explore their interactive website,\u00a0www.nigerianports.gov.ng<\/a>, for insights into growth offerings.<\/p>\n

In his remarks, Dr. Dantsoho revealed that the NPA has established Export Process Terminals (EPTs) aimed at streamlining the previously cumbersome export procedures for Nigerian goods. He stated, \u201cThe EPTs serve as a one-stop shop for cargo consolidation, documentation, packaging, certification, and shipment, all designed to enhance turnaround times and eliminate bureaucratic inefficiencies that have hindered Nigeria’s competitiveness in global markets.\u201d<\/p>\n

To further bolster trade, the EPTs will connect with Domestic Export Warehouses (DEWs) in collaboration with the Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC) and other relevant partners, facilitating better port-hinterland connectivity for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs).<\/p>\n

Dr. Dantsoho highlighted that the establishment of EPTs aligns with the Federal Government’s ease of doing business initiative and the trade fair’s theme: \u201cPromoting Efficiency in Manufacturing, Agriculture, and Trade through Digital Transformation.\u201d He also announced the NPA’s ongoing efforts to fully automate its processes through the Ports Community System (PCS), which will support the implementation of the National Single Window (NSW).<\/p>\n

The NSW represents a global best practice for enhancing trade efficiency, connecting all stakeholders in the trade value chain for seamless interactions. \u201cThese measures aim to link value creators in remote areas with global demand,\u201d Dr. Dantsoho explained.<\/p>\n

He also praised the Kaduna Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines & Agriculture (KADCCIMA) for fostering a culture of hospitality and business friendliness that attracts global participation in the trade fair. Dr. Dantsoho noted Kaduna’s strategic position as a trade and transportation hub, offering significant opportunities, particularly in agro-allied sectors, to connect local producers with international markets.<\/p>\n

As Nigeria’s leading trade facilitation platform, the NPA remains committed to supporting initiatives that promote economic growth through trade, which Dr Dantsoho described as a vital tool for achieving the nation’s economic aspirations.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
