The presidency has assured Nigerians that, despite President Bola Tinubu\u2018s absence from the country, he remains fully engaged in Nigeria\u2019s governance while in France.<\/h2>\n

T<\/strong>his comes a few days after the former Presidential candidates of the Labour Party and PDP\u00a0 in the 2023 election, Peter Obi, Atiku Abubakar and other concerned Nigerians requested the return of Tinubu, over the spate of insecurity in Northern Nigeria, precisly Plateau and Zamfara killings.<\/p>\n

Peter Obi in a statement via his \ud835\udd4f handle on Wednesday, April 16, 2025. said the call became necessary due to the rising incidents of crimes and criminality all over Nigeria, with an apparent absence of governance.<\/p>\n

Peter Obi lamented that in two weeks, over 150 Nigerians have lost their lives to insecurity across Nigeria, especially in the Plateau and Zamfara states.<\/p>\n

The 2023 presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, has berated President Bola Tinubu for remaining in France while violence and killings persist in Zamfara. Benue and Plateau states.<\/p>\n

However, the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, in a statement on Thursday, April 17, 2025, stated that Tinubu\u2019s absence remains temporary and is in line with the communicated timeframe of approximately two weeks.<\/p>\n

He stated that Tinubu has maintained constant communication with key government officials, overseeing critical national matters, including directives to security chiefs to address emerging threats in some parts of the country.<\/p>\n

Onanuga added that Tinubu\u2019s return to Abuja and the resumption of duties at Aso Villa will follow the conclusion of what he has gone to do, and that will be after the Easter holiday.<\/p>\n
