All Delta State House of Representatives members elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), officially defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Tuesday, 6th May, 2025.<\/h3>\n

The defections were announced during plenary by the Speaker of the House,\u00a0Tajudeen Abbas<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The lawmakers in separate letters cited the leadership challenges and internal crisis, both at the zonal and national levels of the PDP, for their decisions.<\/p>\n

The affected members include\u00a0Victor Onyemaechi Nwokolo<\/strong>, representing Ika North East\/Ika South,\u00a0Julius Gbabojor Pondi,<\/strong>\u00a0representing Burutu,\u00a0Thomas Ereyitomi,\u00a0<\/strong>representing Warri North\/Warri South\/Warri South West, and\u00a0Nicholas Ebomo Mutu<\/strong>, representing Bomadi\/Patani.<\/p>\n

Governor of Delta State, Sheriff Oborevwori<\/strong>, had two weeks ago, officially announced his defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).<\/p>\n

Oborevwori moved to the APC along with his deputy,\u00a0Monday Onyeme<\/strong>, his commissioners and major stakeholders in the PDP in Delta State.<\/p>\n

A former Governor of the State and 2023 vice presidential candidate of the PDP,\u00a0Ifeanyi Okowa<\/strong>, also defected to the APC.<\/p>\n

The two leaders and their supporters were subsequently welcomed to the APC in\u00a0a mega rally in Asaba, Delta State, which Vice President Kashim Shettima<\/strong>, APC National Chairman,\u00a0Abdullahi Ganduje<\/strong>, and APC Governors, and several other party chieftains attended.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
