We must speak the truth—every action has consequences.”

He criticized the reckless behaviour of some Nigerian nationals abroad, emphasising that their actions often undermine the efforts of many who are indeed building their lives and representing Nigeria positively.

“Many of us are using our own hands to tarnish Nigeria’s image here. We see videos of fights, cultism, and all sorts of misconduct. You bought a ticket, you got a visa, and yet all you do in China is fight and cause trouble. Who does that help?” he questioned.

Recalling past incidents that had led to deportations, he warned that similarly irresponsible behaviour could result in severe consequences.

“I know four guys who fought here—they’re no longer in China. They’ve been sent back to Nigeria,” he pointed out. “The day Blord came, some people fought. But they are not here anymore. If we continue like this, the Chinese authorities, in collaboration with Nigerian officials, could decide to expel the troublesome individuals, ruining opportunities for everyone else.”

He urged fellow Nigerians to focus on personal and professional growth instead of engaging in violence.

“Every successful business or innovation—banks, aeroplanes, technology—originated from someone’s effort. But instead of hustling, some are busy drinking and fighting. Do you think the Chinese are fighting in the Lagos streets? We’re not the only foreigners here. Arabs, Japanese, Americans—they all behave responsibly,” he asserted.

Concluding with a call for discipline, he reminded his compatriots: “You are ambassadors of Nigeria and your family. Conduct yourselves properly. Cultists, do a little research—where are those involved in such misconduct today? No one has seen them since.”

The video sparked lively reactions across social media platforms. On X.com, user @forwardever wrote, “People go uptown to fight and engage in cultism. Instead of making money or hustling, they’re fighting.”

Another user, @leowatts08, commented, “They use their bad behavior and lifestyle to give Nigeria a bad name abroad.”

On Instagram, @faith.ironsi shared, “Love this. When you go abroad, focus on your work or business. There’s no time for nonsense.”

Similarly, @amara advised, “Use your time wisely. Don’t squander the chance to succeed—many people are eager for such opportunities.”

Uche, another Instagram user, emphasized the need for us to uphold Nigeria’s reputation, stating, “This is a wake-up call to improve how Nigeria is seen out there. God bless you, brother. No matter your tribe, let’s represent well.”

Historical data reveals the seriousness of the issue: as of 2017, reports indicated over 535 Nigerians were imprisoned in China, mostly for drug-related offences. In Guangzhou alone, statistics showed that two out of every 200 Nigerian visitors had been arrested for similar reasons.

The message is clear—Nigerians abroad must conduct themselves responsibly. Our actions reflect not just on us but also on the image of Nigeria worldwide.

Some Nigerians living in Guangzhou, southern China, have publicly voiced their concerns over actions by their compatriots that continue to damage Nigeria’s reputation worldwide.
