However, Obi sharply criticised the trip in a statement titled\u00a0\u201cNo, Mr President, This is Not the Time for Holidaying.\u201d<\/em>\u00a0He described it as disconnected from the harsh realities facing Nigerians today.<\/p>\n \u201cI find it hard to believe that someone in a position of authority\u2014especially the President, whose responsibility it is\u2014would consider a leisure trip at such a critical time,\u201d Obi remarked.<\/p>\n He raised concerns about how the President could leave Nigeria for what Obi called a \u201choliday,\u201d despite the nation grappling with widespread hunger, insecurity, and the devastating aftermath of recent natural disasters.<\/p>\n \u201cIn the past two years, Nigeria has lost more lives to criminality than a country officially at war,\u201d Obi stated. \u201cOur country now ranks among the most insecure in the world.
