This figure represents an impressive surge of\u00a0<strong>N171,719,786,247.68<\/strong>\u00a0compared to the same period in 2024, showcasing a significant growth of nearly\u00a0<strong>29.85%<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h3>Stellar Revenue Performance<\/h3>\n<p>According to Comptroller Frank Onyeka, the Customs Area Controller of Tincan Port, the port achieved\u00a0<strong>98.03%<\/strong>\u00a0of its projected revenue target for the first half of 2025. He highlighted the month-by-month breakdown, noting key achievements:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>January 2025:<\/strong>\u00a0N116.4 billion, up from N88.4 billion in January 2024.<\/li>\n<li><strong>February:<\/strong>\u00a0N103.3 billion, surpassing the previous year&#8217;s N100.3 billion.<\/li>\n<li><strong>March-May:<\/strong> Consistent increases with collections of N128.3 billion, N145 billion, and N128.4 billion, respectively, each exceeding their targets.<\/li>\n<li><strong>June:<\/strong>\u00a0N125.7 billion, a notable rise from N83.2 billion in the same month of 2024.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Command processed\u00a0<strong>3,450 Single Goods Declarations (SGDs)<\/strong>\u00a0under the new Bodogwu clearance system within this period, successfully exiting\u00a0<strong>2,749 entries<\/strong>. Additionally, a total of\u00a0<strong>282 vessels<\/strong> reported at the port, carrying a diverse array of bulk commodities like wheat, malt, chemicals, sugar, aluminium nitride, and general cargo.<\/p>\n<h3>Anti-Smuggling and Security Operations<\/h3>\n<p>In the fight against illicit activities, the Tincan Port recorded commendable progress. The Command confiscated illicit drugs valued at over <strong>N8 billion<\/strong>, including Cannabis indica, crystal meth, and other narcotics, which were handed over to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).<\/p>\n<p>Further, thorough inspections led to the discovery of arms, ammunition, and military equipment concealed within a container transporting used vehicles. Items recovered include pistols, live and blank ammunition, magazines, handcuffs, and a flashlight, all handed over to the Department of State Services (DSS). Regular briefings and open forums have been instrumental in keeping the public informed about port activities.<\/p>\n<h3>Recognition and Future Outlook<\/h3>\n<p>Comptroller Onyeka conveyed his congratulations to the new Chairman of the World Customs Organisation (WCO) Council, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, hailing his appointment as a divine victory.
