In a deadly ambush around 1 a.m. on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, bandits k!lled two soldiers and two vigilantes near Dogo Ruwa community in Bashar district, Wase Local Government Area of Plateau State.<\/span><\/div>\n

The attackers also seized the soldiers\u2019 rifles and uniforms.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to residents, the security team was responding to reports of an impending bandit attack when they were ambushed.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Abdullahi Yakuku, the traditional leader of Safiyo, confirmed the incident, noting the victims were caught off guard while tracking the bandits.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThere was a report that the bandits were coming to attack Dogon Ruwa, and people quickly alerted security forces who quickly mobilized and moved to where they were said to have been sighted,” the traditional ruler said.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWhile on their way to the area, unknown to the security, the bandits had laid an ambush and opened fire at them, resulting in the deaths of two soldiers and two vigilantes.”\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
