Panic is spreading through the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and its allies in the 2027 opposition coalition, as the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) allegedly zeroes in on key political figures working to unseat President Bola Tinubu.<\/p>\n
The latest twist came on Monday when former Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Tambuwal<\/strong> \u2014 a prominent coalition member \u2014 was grilled by EFCC investigators over alleged fraudulent cash withdrawals totalling \u20a6189 billion<\/strong> during his tenure from 2015 to 2023.<\/p>\n According to EFCC sources, the transactions are suspected to violate the Money Laundering (Prevention and Prohibition) Act, 2022<\/strong>. Tambuwal reportedly arrived at the commission\u2019s Abuja headquarters at about 11:30 am before being taken into custody for questioning.<\/p>\n While EFCC spokesperson Dele Oyewale<\/strong> declined comment, ADC\u2019s National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi<\/strong>, confirmed that three former governors in the coalition had been summoned.
