The United States Mission in Nigeria has requested that visa applicants provide a full disclosure of their social media history when completing the DS-160 form.<\/p>\n

The Mission, in a tweet on its official X handle, emphasised that applicants must include all usernames or handles used on any platform within the last five years.<\/p>\n

The social media usernames or handles are to be listed in the DS-160 visa application form.<\/p>\n

Additionally, the Mission stated that applicants must certify that the information they provided in their visa application form is true and correct before submission.<\/p>\n

In the tweet dated Monday, 18th August 2025, the Mission warned that omission of such information could put future travel plans to the US at risk.<\/p>\n

It further warned that incomplete or misleading entries would not be overlooked.<\/p>\n

\u201cVisa applicants are required to list all social media usernames or handles of every platform they have used from the last 5 years on the DS-160 visa application form.<\/p>\n

Applicants certify that the information in their visa application is true and correct before they sign and submit. Omitting social media information could lead to visa denial and ineligibility for future visas,\u201d parts of the directive read.<\/p>\n
