{"id":8650,"date":"2025-09-12T21:26:47","date_gmt":"2025-09-12T21:26:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/beadysword.com.ng\/blog\/?p=8650"},"modified":"2025-09-12T21:27:00","modified_gmt":"2025-09-12T21:27:00","slug":"doctors-shut-hospitals-across-nigeria","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/beadysword.com.ng\/blog\/2025\/09\/12\/doctors-shut-hospitals-across-nigeria\/","title":{"rendered":"Doctors shut hospitals across Nigeria"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"mvp-content-body-top\" class=\"left relative\">\n<div id=\"mvp-content-main\" class=\"left relative\">\n<p>Nigerians have been left stranded as the National Association of Resident Doctors, NARD, commenced a five-day warning strike to press their demands.<\/p>\n<p>This was disclosed on Friday in a brief statement by NARD Secretary-General, Dr Oluwasola Odunbaku, via the association\u2019s X account.<\/p>\n<p>The strike follows NARD\u2019s online National Executive Council\u2019s decision to proceed after its ultimatum to the Nigerian government to meet its demands expired on September 10, 2025.<\/p>\n<div class=\"code-block code-block-18\">\n<div align=\"center\">\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1524595905268-5\" data-google-query-id=\"CO3M3f6T1I8DFU_zEQgdDx41zg\">\n<div id=\"google_ads_iframe_\/14001636\/DP_InsidePost_MPU_2_0__container__\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>According to the statement: \u201cThe Nigerian Association of Resident Doctors hereby notifies all members that the five-day warning strike has commenced today, in line with our NEC decision.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe urge every member across all centres to comply fully with this directive. This action is aimed at pressing home our demands for better welfare, improved working conditions, and a stronger healthcare system for Nigerians.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The strike has left millions of Nigerians who rely on public hospitals stranded.<\/p>\n<p>NARD President, Dr Tope Osundare, earlier said that members would embark on strike over poor working conditions, power shortages, downgrading of certificates, poor remuneration, and other issues.<\/p>\n<p>The action comes amid the ongoing seven-day strike by the Association of Resident Doctors, Federal Capital Territory Administration, which began on Monday.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"mvp-cont-read-wrap\">\n<div id=\"mvp-related-posts\" class=\"left relative\">\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Nigerians have been left stranded as the National Association of Resident Doctors, NARD, commenced a five-day warning strike to press their demands.
