Yoruba Group Slams Tinubu Over \u201cPropaganda\u201d Amid Growing Hardship<\/h3>\n

The Yoruba socio-political organisation \u00ccgb\u00ecm\u00f2 M\u00e1j\u00e9k\u00f3b\u00e1j\u00e9 Il\u00e9-Yor\u00f9b\u00e1<\/strong> has once again taken on President Bola Tinubu, accusing him of masking widespread suffering with \u201cpropaganda of progress.\u201d<\/p>\n

In a strongly worded statement released Tuesday, the group described Nigeria as being in the grip of an unprecedented humanitarian crisis, with hunger and poverty driving citizens to desperate measures.<\/p>\n

Convener Olusola Badero<\/strong> and Home Director Princess Balogun<\/strong>, who signed the statement, said the dignity of the Yoruba people is being eroded by harsh economic policies\u2014especially the removal of fuel subsidies\u2014while ordinary Nigerians struggle to survive.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe cannot jeopardise the future of our people just because Tinubu, who is Yoruba, is confused and has run out of ideas,\u201d the statement read. \u201cToday, things have fallen apart. \u1eccm\u1ecd Eleran t\u00ed j\u1eb9 Egungun\u2014the son of meat sellers is now eating bones<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The group painted a bleak picture of life under the current administration:<\/p>\n

    Reports of married women entering casual relationships to make ends meet.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    Children are dropping out of school because their parents can no longer afford tuition.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    Young people are turning to internet fraud in the absence of jobs.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Farmers are abandoning their lands due to insecurity and attacks by terrorists.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    According to the group, Tinubu\u2019s government has \u201cfailed its mandate,\u201d prioritising foreign trips and negotiations with terrorists instead of protecting citizens or reviving the economy. They allege that the only clear achievement of the administration has been \u201cimposing more taxes on the people.\u201d<\/p>\n

    Businesses are collapsing, household heads are unable to provide for their families, and entire communities are being displaced, the group warned.<\/p>\n

    Calling for action, \u00ccgb\u00ecm\u00f2 M\u00e1j\u00e9k\u00f3b\u00e1j\u00e9 Il\u00e9-Yor\u00f9b\u00e1 urged Nigerians to register to vote and ensure that \u201cthe mistake of voting for Tinubu and his allies\u201d is not repeated in future elections.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
