According to a public notice from the Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development, a stakeholders\u2019 engagement was held on Monday, 22 September 2025, at Market Square, Otigba Street, Ikeja. The session focused on moving the market to the proposed ICT and Business Park in Katangowa, Agbado Oke-Odo LCDA. It shows the governor\u2019s commitment to openness,\u201d Oki said.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"769\" data-end=\"1048\">Oki, speaking to the traders, many of whom are Igbo, have \u201cone year and a few months\u201d to move to the new site. He emphasised that the government aims for a smooth transition to prevent demolition or forced eviction.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1050\" data-end=\"1418\">The official also invited investors from among the traders to help the state government develop the new ICT and Business Park. They promised him that they would be part of it, provided it is affordable for the traders, because they are the people who add value to Computer Village; they made it what it is today. Without them, the Government wouldn\u2019t be talking about relocation; they created what the Government is about to relocate.<\/p>\n<p>He appeals to the state governor for single-digit interest loans from the CBN to ease the financial burden. \u201cIt is not only the government that should enjoy single-digit loans,\u201d he says. He also requests more time for the relocation and proposes a \u201cone person, one shop\u201d policy at an affordable price to ensure fairness.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p data-start=\"1875\" data-end=\"2158\">Highlighting the human angle, Mr Nwakeze called for roadside vendors\u2014many of whom are graduates\u2014to be included in the relocation plans. \u201cThey did not choose to sell on the road; circumstances forced them there,\u201d he said, urging the government to carry everyone along in the process.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2160\" data-end=\"2418\">The relocation of Computer Village, Africa\u2019s largest technology market, has been on the state\u2019s agenda for several years.
