ACOVITEMN Holds Strategic Engagement with Chairman of the Progressive Governors\u2019 Forum<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Association of Computer Village Technology Merchants of Nigeria (ACOVITEMN), the umbrella body representing technology traders and innovators across Nigeria\u2019s major markets, has successfully concluded a high-level strategic engagement with the Chairman of the Progressive Governors\u2019 Forum (PGF). Governor Hope Uzodimma.<\/p>\n

The meeting, held at the Imo State Governor\u2019s Office, was aimed at forging a sustainable partnership to transform Nigeria\u2019s technology-trade landscape and accelerate the nation\u2019s digital economy.<\/p>\n

Objectives of the Engagement<\/h3>\n

ACOVITEMN outlined key objectives for collaboration with state governments and the federal government:<\/p>\n

    Attract increased revenue for the government through technology-driven initiatives.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  2. \n

    Create jobs for Nigerians, particularly youth and women.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  3. \n

    Promote the adoption and utilisation of locally developed technology products and services.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  4. \n

    Establish exclusive ICT hubs, training centres, and technology-development facilities across Nigeria to provide skills training and certification for talented young Nigerians.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    As part of its broader strategy, ACOVITEMN recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Federal Ministry of Innovation, Science and Technology to collaborate on research and development in ICT, innovation promotion, economic growth, and wealth creation.<\/p>\n

      National Tech Market Modernisation:<\/strong> ACOVITEMN presented a blueprint to upgrade technology markets in all Progressive Governors\u2019 Forum states, focusing on broadband access, power reliability, and enhanced security.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      Youth Empowerment & Job Creation:<\/strong> Both parties explored joint programs for digital skills training\u2014including coding, hardware repair, and entrepreneurship to expand employment opportunities for young Nigerians.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      ACOVITEMN President, Prince Tony Nwakeze<\/strong>, described the engagement as \u201ca milestone for Nigeria\u2019s technology merchants and a bold step toward positioning our markets as hubs of innovation and national development.\u201d<\/p>\n

      Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma<\/strong>, host of the meeting and Chairman of the Progressive Governors\u2019 Forum, commended ACOVITEMN\u2019s initiative.
