She explained that the agency carried out a <strong data-start=\"569\" data-end=\"596\">lawful rescue operation<\/strong> after receiving a petition from the Protection Against Abduction and Missing Children (PATAMOC) and gathering intelligence about a child-trafficking network.<\/p>\n<blockquote data-start=\"758\" data-end=\"865\">\n<p data-start=\"760\" data-end=\"865\">\u201cThe rescue operation was not an abduction. NAPTIP does not engage in such condemnable acts,\u201d Bello said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p data-start=\"867\" data-end=\"1237\">According to Bello, the eight children were <strong data-start=\"911\" data-end=\"942\">originally stolen from Kano<\/strong> and hidden at the orphanage in Asaba. Working with the police, NAPTIP removed the children to protect them and begin the process of reuniting them with their lawful families.
