The vehicle was abandoned by the suspects who fled when sighted by patrols.<\/li>\n<li>The Nigerian Navy Ship (NNS) BEECROFT, under the leadership of Commodore Paul Nimmyel, and represented by Capt. Idongesit Udoessien, Executive Officer of NNS BEECROFT, handed over 20 bags weighing a total of 840 kilograms to the NDLEA at a handover ceremony held at the naval base in Apapa, Lagos.<\/li>\n<li>The seizure was conducted with the Base Quick Response Team, supported by Operation MESA personnel.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>statements<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Capt. Idongesit Udoessien emphasised that the handover aligns with the Navy\u2019s commitment to counter maritime crime and safeguard security on Lagos\u2019 waterways.<\/li>\n<li>He noted the collaboration with other security agencies to disrupt illicit drug networks and to enhance coastal and inland security.<\/li>\n<li>Udoessien urged the public to provide credible information to support security efforts across Lagos State.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>The seizure underscores the Nigerian Navy\u2019s ongoing efforts, under the Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Adm. Emmanuel Ogalla, to combat maritime crimes and illicit trafficking.<\/li>\n<li>The handover to the NDLEA represents a coordinated approach to drug enforcement and maritime security, ensuring that seized contraband does not reach the streets.
